Special Inspection/Materials Testing
NTI provided special inspection and materials testing
services for the new port facility and its recent
expansion at Terminal 4. The development consisted
of the construction of seven new structures with a
combined 100,000 square feet of interior space and over
40 acres of asphaltic concrete pavement. The $40
million development enabled Toyota to more efficiently
receive, inspect, clean, fuel, and accessorize the
160,000 autos shipped to the site each year.
Duties included subgrade evaluation, earthwork
monitoring, reinforced concrete inspection, asphaltic
concrete inspection, structural steel inspection
including non-destructive examination of FEMA moment
frame connections, structural masonry inspection, and
proprietary anchor inspection.
