NTI provided inspection of the $23 million remediation
and structural overhaul of the 12-year old problem
complex, which was closed in 2010 after being deemed
“imminently dangerous.” Severe structural damage
as a result of flawed design and construction defects
necessitated the rehabilitation of the five-story,
163,000 square foot office building and bus mall
including column, footing and drop panel enlargements,
strengthening of structural components with carbon-fiber
reinforced polymer (CFRP). Duties included
reinforced concrete, proprietary anchors, structural
steel, cold-formed steel framing, and carbon-fiber
reinforced polymer inspections.
